Victorian Tiled Floor Cleaning and Sealing in Hale

From their origins in Gothic Revival architecture to the mass production of the Industrial Revolution, Victoriantiles have stood the test of time. Today, they remain as fashionable as when they first came into style in the 19th century, but the story of this timeless geometric trend is one that has certainly developed over the past two centuries.
We got exited straight away when we received a call from our customer about restorating victorian hallway in Hale, Manchester.
On our free survey visit, we completed a cleaning test and our customer was amazed by the results, meaning we got booked in on the spot.

Victorian Tile Floor Restoration

Cleaning Victorian Tiled Hallway

For cleaning this beautiful Victorian Floor we used ourGrout Clean-Up product. It contains concentrated phosphoric acid and cleaner designed to penetrate below the surface to remove light grout smears (grout haze), mineral deposits, rust stains and efflorescence. This product is also effective for the removal of most hard water stains, lime deposits and soap scum.
Product got sprayed on floor and left to dwell for about 15 minutes. This was followed up by carefully scrubbing the Victorian tile floor with scrubbing pad fitted to rotary machine. After scrubbing the floor with machine, we had to go over the edges with our hand scrubbing pads, as we didn't want to ruin these feshly painted skirting boards.
After chemical cleaning we used our 200 grit diamond burnishing pad to remove any of the last sealer left on/in floor and grind off any ingrained dirt from tiles. We used some water as a lubricant and removed all soiled water from floor with wet vacuum. As always machine doesn't do all the work so we had to get on hands and knees and used our diamond hand pad to go over places where machine didn't reach - corners and edges.
After all plaster, paint and cement was removed from this floor, we left it to dry for two days.

On return first thing we did was checking dampness in tiles with our damp tester. It had been a nice weather but still after two days of drying we found few damp areas that needed drying with our heatguns.
Damp removed we started sealing. For sealing we used our 2 sealer system - first sealing with impregnating sealer and then with topical sealer. This system seals the floor inside out and leaves a much more enhances look then any of the sealers alone.

First we sealed with colour enhancing impregnating sealer, we added 2 coats as this floor was really drinking it. After each coat we polished off any sealer excess from tiles with soft cotton cloths. Sealing finished with impregnating sealer we had to give it couple hours drying time, meaning we got a longer lunch this time around.
Next up we sealed the floor with our topical sealer which is water based blend of acrylic polymers that provides both a stain resistant surface seal and a durable low-sheen finish. Topical sealer got applied on with paint pad and floor took three coats in total with half an hour drying time between coats.

Outdoor porcelain tile patios add elegance and functionality to any home, creating the perfect space for entertaining, relaxing, and enjoying the beauty of nature. However, patios are continually exposed to weather, foot traffic, and daily wear and tear. This leads to a gradual buildup of grime, algae, and mud that can make the surface dull, slippery, and unsafe. Recently, Quality Tile Care took on a project in the lovely town of Alderley Edge, Cheshire, where we transformed a porcelain tiled patio back to its original glory with our thorough, professional deep cleaning service. The Initial State: A Patio in Need of Serious Cleaning The Alderley Edge patio had not been deep cleaned for quite some time, and the impact was evident. Mud, algae, and dirt were layered across the tiles, turning them dangerously slippery. With the goal of restoring the patio’s look and ensuring its safety, the homeowner reached out to us. At Quality Tile Care, we offer top-tier tile and grout cleaning services for both residential and commercial spaces across Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Derbyshire, and Liverpool, including locations like Altrincham, Stockport, Wilmslow, Knutsford, and beyond.
SHOWER BATH TILE, SILICONE SEALANT AND GROUT RESTORATION. COVERING MANCHESTER; Liverpool, Lancashire
by Quality Tile Care 26 September 2024
At Quality Tile Care , we recently took on a shower bath restoration project that turned out to be a perfect example of how professional tile and stone cleaning can breathe new life into your bathroom without the need for costly replacements. If you’ve been living with discoloured grout lines, dirty tiles, or mouldy silicone, there’s a more affordable and effective solution. Read on to see how we restored this shower bath to its former glory! The Problem: Dirty Grout and Mouldy Sealant In this project, the shower bath area had been suffering from the common issues faced by many homeowners: Dirty and discoloured grout lines that detract from the overall appearance of the bathroom. Mouldy silicone sealant around the bath and in the corners of the shower area, which is not only unsightly but can also lead to bigger issues like water damage if left untreated. These are typical signs of wear and tear in bathrooms, especially in areas exposed to high levels of moisture. While it might be tempting to consider a full replacement, we know that expert cleaning and restoration can be just as effective—and much more cost-efficient.
