Commercial Floor Tiles and Grout Cleaning in Trafford Centre, Manchester

This time we were called out to complete a commercial floor tiles and grout cleaning job in busy Trafford Centre Restaurant in Trafford Park, Manchester. In Trafford Centre, visitors have the choice of over 200 stores along three miles of granite and marble boulevards. Stores range from designer and high fashion favourites, including the first Selfridges outside London, to stylish homewares at Barton Square. The Centre is also home to 60 restaurants, cafes and bars in The Orient and the opulent Great Hall.

We received a call from one of The Orient restaurant managers who explained us the problems they were having with the restaurant floor cleanliness. Biggest issue they had there was the discoloured grout. After a phone call it was clear that I needed to see the floor in person.
On arrival I did a quick cleaning tester on the grout and discovered that this grout was never sealed by the tilers. It is essential to seal the grout lines after installation as it keeps them from discolouring. After completing a tester, informing the manager what needed doing and explaining we are no strangers to night work, they gave us a go ahead with the work.

Porcelain Tiles and Grout Cleaning

For cleaning this beautiful porcelainfloor tiles and grout we used our strong alkaline cleaner. Cleaning product got sprayed on floor and left to bread down the dirt for about 10 minutes, it was essential for the product to dwell into grout lines as the dirt build-up was heavy there. This was followed by scrubbing the grout lines with our specially designed grout brushes, while for corners we had to use our smaller brushes. After grout was scrubbed properly, we used our rotary machine to clean the tiles. After all the cleaning we added some water on floor and removed the soiled water with our wet vacuum and then rinsed the porcelain floor again with clean water. All tiles and grout cleaned we were finished for the day and left the floor to dry till the next day.

Grout Sealing

When we returned to seal the porcelain floor grout lines, first thing we had to do was making sure all grout was completely dry with our damp testers. As always there were some damp areas which had to be dried out with our heat guns.
For sealing we used impregnating sealer. It is solvent based matt sealer which leaves a matte finish, penetrates in the surface and allows the floor to breathe. Impregnating sealer performs well in wet areas including bathrooms , busy traffic areas and swimming pool surrounds.

In total this grout took three generous coats of the sealer which got applied by our small grout colouring/sealing brushes. As you can imagine this is quite a time consuming job to go over all the grout lines so many times. After sealer application we had to remove any sealer residue that's gotten on tiles. For removing the sealer from tiles we used our buffing machine fitted with cotton cloth covered soft white pad. As we applied so much sealer on grout lines, polishingoff the sealer excess took us a bit of time but gave a really nice and fresh look to this beautiful porcelain floor to finish it off.

Outdoor porcelain tile patios add elegance and functionality to any home, creating the perfect space for entertaining, relaxing, and enjoying the beauty of nature. However, patios are continually exposed to weather, foot traffic, and daily wear and tear. This leads to a gradual buildup of grime, algae, and mud that can make the surface dull, slippery, and unsafe. Recently, Quality Tile Care took on a project in the lovely town of Alderley Edge, Cheshire, where we transformed a porcelain tiled patio back to its original glory with our thorough, professional deep cleaning service. The Initial State: A Patio in Need of Serious Cleaning The Alderley Edge patio had not been deep cleaned for quite some time, and the impact was evident. Mud, algae, and dirt were layered across the tiles, turning them dangerously slippery. With the goal of restoring the patio’s look and ensuring its safety, the homeowner reached out to us. At Quality Tile Care, we offer top-tier tile and grout cleaning services for both residential and commercial spaces across Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Derbyshire, and Liverpool, including locations like Altrincham, Stockport, Wilmslow, Knutsford, and beyond.
SHOWER BATH TILE, SILICONE SEALANT AND GROUT RESTORATION. COVERING MANCHESTER; Liverpool, Lancashire
by Quality Tile Care 26 September 2024
At Quality Tile Care , we recently took on a shower bath restoration project that turned out to be a perfect example of how professional tile and stone cleaning can breathe new life into your bathroom without the need for costly replacements. If you’ve been living with discoloured grout lines, dirty tiles, or mouldy silicone, there’s a more affordable and effective solution. Read on to see how we restored this shower bath to its former glory! The Problem: Dirty Grout and Mouldy Sealant In this project, the shower bath area had been suffering from the common issues faced by many homeowners: Dirty and discoloured grout lines that detract from the overall appearance of the bathroom. Mouldy silicone sealant around the bath and in the corners of the shower area, which is not only unsightly but can also lead to bigger issues like water damage if left untreated. These are typical signs of wear and tear in bathrooms, especially in areas exposed to high levels of moisture. While it might be tempting to consider a full replacement, we know that expert cleaning and restoration can be just as effective—and much more cost-efficient.
