Our Customer from Bowdon found us via Google
search and was impressed with our work history, so she gave us a call to ask about her marble tiled floor.
Bowdon is a village and electoral ward in the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford
, Greater Manchester. Bowdon, Hale and Hale Barns together are regarded as the wealthiest areas in Greater Manchester, and similarly wealthy to Cheshire
Golden Triangle towns Wilmslow
, Alderley Edge and Prestbury.
When doing the free home survey service I did a quick tester on this marble tiled floor and again customer was impressed with the result and accepted the quote. Marble is the ultimate choice in luxury stone tiles, durable & beautiful, although if they are not taken care properly then suddenly the floor won't look as luxorious. But hey, that's where we step in.
For Cleaning and Polishing the Marble stone floor we used our Diamond Burnishing Pads System. This time we started with 200 grit instead if 400 grit. This was just to remove some of the acid damaged areas in the kitchen. We used some clean water as a lubricant and by using water we didn't create any dust. After each pad we rinsed the floor and removed soiled water with our wet vacuum. From 200 grit we moved up to 400, 800, 1500 and 3000 grits, each one getting finer and leaving a beautiful polished stone finish on Marble tiles.
After the 1500 grit we also cleaned the grout lines. We did it after 1500 grit because after all these pads and water on stone floor, dirt had softened in grout lines and we were able to clean it using our grout brushes. Of course we rinsed the burnished floor with clean water couple of times after this, as this was the last water on floor. After rinsing we left the floor to dry till the next day.
When we returned on the next day to finish off the Marble floor restoration, we used a damp tester to make sure there's no damp on tiles or grout. Floor has to be completely dry in order to seal.
We returned the next day to apply the high shine finish on marble tiles. It's second sealer we applied on the floor, first one penetrates in the tiles and second one buffed on top to protect from outside. The high shine sealer comes as a powder and got buffed on the floor with water and soft white pad fitted on the rotary machine followed by removing the powdered water with wet vacuum. It is a slow process but really makes a difference. We gave another rinse to the floor with water and our work was finished.
Our customer was over the moon with the result and booked us in for yearly maintenance.
We also gave them everyday maintenance info as well: https://www.qualitytilecare.co.uk/maintenance-tips-and-advice-for-your-natural-stone-floors-walls
