Victorian tiles areInspired by tiles from the 1800s, charming Victorian Floor Tiles inject a lot of character in your home with classic shapes and styles, with all the benefits of a practical and modern tile. This VictorianHallway Floor was in terrible state, as our customer found it when they removed the old carpet. After removing the carpet they couldn't get it cleaned as it was full of plaster, paint and carpet underlay adhesive. Also couple of tiles were missing and loose, so they decided to google victorian tile cleaners and luckily found us. On arrival it was clear to us what needed doing to restore this beautiful victorian floor. After explaining the work process our customer was confident enough to book us in straight away.

Victorian Tile Cleaning Service

Cleaning Victorian Tiled Floor

For cleaning the VictorianFloor we used ourmulti-purpose stripper formulated with a long dwell-time to remove most coatings and sealers, epoxy grout haze, urethane coatings, synthetic finishes, adhesives and paints. This product also draws out ingrained stains and removes heavy grease build-up. First we used the product, steamer and hand scrubbing pad to clean up the hallway corners, as there was heavy adhesive buildup. When corners were finished, it was time to start with the bigger floor clean. We left the product to dwell in for about 15-20 minutes on the victorian tiles and then scrubbed with heavy duty strong scrubbing pad fitted to our rotary machine. After scrubbing we rinsed the scrubbed area and removed the soiled water with our wet vacuum.

Victorian Tile Cleaning and Sealing

After removing the old sealer and most of the mess on the victorian floor, we still had to go over the floor it with our acid cleaner, which is designed to clean up grout haze and plaster. Firstwe had to scrape off thicker parts of the plaster and then repeated the same cleaning and scrubbing process again with the acid cleaner.
Most of the cleaning done we moved to replace some of the tiles and fix the loose ones. Luckily they had the same victorian tiles all the way to bathroom as well, which they wanted to cover up anyway, so we managed to take the missing victorian tiles from there.

Victorian Tile Restoration

When the problem tiles were fixed, there was still some dirt ingrained in the tiles, so we had to go over the floor with the 200 grit diamond burnishing pad. The burnishing pad worked as a treat and left an amazing smooth finish. Due to burnishing the floor after cleaning we went over the Victorian Tiled Floor with our acid cleaner again to prevent any mineral salt deposits ( efflorescence) coming up when the floor dries.
Finally all repairs, stripping and cleaning done we left the floor to dry for 48 hours.

Victorian Tile Cleaning and Sealing

Victorian Floor Sealing

On the return, we checked the floor with our damp tester and removed any damp with our heavy duty heat gun. All prepared, we started sealing. For sealing the victorian tiles we used colour enhancing impregnating sealer which leaves a natural matt finish while bringing out the colours. This floor took 3 coats of the sealer. After every coat we left it to dwell in for about 15 minutes and then removed any not absorbed sealer with soft cotton cloths.

Outdoor porcelain tile patios add elegance and functionality to any home, creating the perfect space for entertaining, relaxing, and enjoying the beauty of nature. However, patios are continually exposed to weather, foot traffic, and daily wear and tear. This leads to a gradual buildup of grime, algae, and mud that can make the surface dull, slippery, and unsafe. Recently, Quality Tile Care took on a project in the lovely town of Alderley Edge, Cheshire, where we transformed a porcelain tiled patio back to its original glory with our thorough, professional deep cleaning service. The Initial State: A Patio in Need of Serious Cleaning The Alderley Edge patio had not been deep cleaned for quite some time, and the impact was evident. Mud, algae, and dirt were layered across the tiles, turning them dangerously slippery. With the goal of restoring the patio’s look and ensuring its safety, the homeowner reached out to us. At Quality Tile Care, we offer top-tier tile and grout cleaning services for both residential and commercial spaces across Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Derbyshire, and Liverpool, including locations like Altrincham, Stockport, Wilmslow, Knutsford, and beyond.
SHOWER BATH TILE, SILICONE SEALANT AND GROUT RESTORATION. COVERING MANCHESTER; Liverpool, Lancashire
by Quality Tile Care 26 September 2024
At Quality Tile Care , we recently took on a shower bath restoration project that turned out to be a perfect example of how professional tile and stone cleaning can breathe new life into your bathroom without the need for costly replacements. If you’ve been living with discoloured grout lines, dirty tiles, or mouldy silicone, there’s a more affordable and effective solution. Read on to see how we restored this shower bath to its former glory! The Problem: Dirty Grout and Mouldy Sealant In this project, the shower bath area had been suffering from the common issues faced by many homeowners: Dirty and discoloured grout lines that detract from the overall appearance of the bathroom. Mouldy silicone sealant around the bath and in the corners of the shower area, which is not only unsightly but can also lead to bigger issues like water damage if left untreated. These are typical signs of wear and tear in bathrooms, especially in areas exposed to high levels of moisture. While it might be tempting to consider a full replacement, we know that expert cleaning and restoration can be just as effective—and much more cost-efficient.
