This Travertinerestoring job was located at Bramhall.Bramhall is a suburb with a fantastic village sqare in the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport
, Greater Manchester
, England. It was Historically in Cheshire.
Our customer found out about our services via google search
and was impressed with what he saw, so we got called out.
Our free quotation visit went really well and we got booked in to do the job.
For Burnishing (cleaning and polishing) we still used our diamond burnishing pads system.
We started off on these travertinetiles with 200 grit diamond burnishing pad, with some water as a lubricant. The first 400 grit removes the old sealer/wax off the stone floor and removes any scraches or acid stains
( Etch Marks
) in Travertine.
When whole floor was burnished with the first pad, then all the soiled water got removed with wet vacuum. Next we moved on to 800 grit which is finer then the 400 grit, but rough enough still to break down layers of ingrained dirt. This got followed up with the application of a fine 1500 grit pad, which started to smooth down the rough areas of the surface to prepare the floor for a final polish with an even finer burnishing pad later on.
After the last pad, floor got rinsed once more.
All cleaning finished, we had to fill in holes and cracks. They got filled in with flexible stone filler and then the floor was left to dry till the next day.
When we returned on the next day to finish off the Travertine stone tiled floor restoration , a damp tester got used to make sure there was no damp left in tiles. This Travertine floor had to be completely dry in order to seal.
