PATIO RESTORATION IN WESTHOUGHTON: A STUNNING TRANSFORMATION BY QUALITY TILE CARE

Quality Tile Care • 17 September 2024

At Quality Tile Care, we love bringing outdoor spaces back to life, and our recent patio renovation project in Westhoughton showcases our dedication to quality and detail. This patio had seen better days, with algae, black spots, and worn-out grout making it look tired and aged. We're thrilled to share how we completely transformed it into a fresh and inviting space once again.

Step 1: Old Grout Removal

Our renovation process began with the careful removal of the old brush-in grout. The existing grout had been incorrectly applied by a previous business and was already coming loose in several areas. We meticulously removed all the old grout, ensuring a clean and smooth surface to work with. This step was crucial in preparing the patio for a fresh application, setting the foundation for a long-lasting finish.

Step 2: Deep Cleaning the Patio Tiles

With the old grout removed, we moved on to deep cleaning the patio tiles. We used professional tile and stone cleaning products, along with a rotary machine and wet vacuum, to tackle years of built-up dirt, algae, and stubborn black spots. The thorough cleaning process brought the tiles back to life, making them look like new again. By the end of this step, the patio was free from all discolouration and grime.

Step 3: Fixing Loose Tiles

There were also some loose tiles that needed fixing. We took the time to properly secure these tiles, ensuring the entire patio surface was stable and safe. This attention to detail not only improves the appearance but also the longevity of the patio.

Step 4: Regrouting with Azpects Easyjoint Mushroom

Once the tiles were secure and clean, we proceeded with regrouting. Our client chose Azpects Easyjoint in the Mushroom colour from a variety of options, as it offered a durable and aesthetically pleasing finish that matched the cleaned tiles perfectly. Using brush-in grout, we carefully filled in the joints, creating a seamless and cohesive look.

Step 5: Final Light Clean and Project Handover

To wrap up the project, we returned a few days later for a light final clean, ensuring any residual grout debris was removed. This last touch made sure the patio was in pristine condition for the handover. The end result was a beautifully refreshed patio, free from black spots, algae, and general dirt, with new grout that perfectly complemented the tiles.

Comparison of muddy, algae-cover

Outdoor porcelain tile patios add elegance and functionality to any home, creating the perfect space for entertaining, relaxing, and enjoying the beauty of nature. However, patios are continually exposed to weather, foot traffic, and daily wear and tear. This leads to a gradual buildup of grime, algae, and mud that can make the surface dull, slippery, and unsafe. Recently, Quality Tile Care took on a project in the lovely town of Alderley Edge, Cheshire, where we transformed a porcelain tiled patio back to its original glory with our thorough, professional deep cleaning service. The Initial State: A Patio in Need of Serious Cleaning The Alderley Edge patio had not been deep cleaned for quite some time, and the impact was evident. Mud, algae, and dirt were layered across the tiles, turning them dangerously slippery. With the goal of restoring the patio’s look and ensuring its safety, the homeowner reached out to us. At Quality Tile Care, we offer top-tier tile and grout cleaning services for both residential and commercial spaces across Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Derbyshire, and Liverpool, including locations like Altrincham, Stockport, Wilmslow, Knutsford, and beyond.
SHOWER BATH TILE, SILICONE SEALANT AND GROUT RESTORATION. COVERING MANCHESTER; Liverpool, Lancashire
by Quality Tile Care 26 September 2024
At Quality Tile Care , we recently took on a shower bath restoration project that turned out to be a perfect example of how professional tile and stone cleaning can breathe new life into your bathroom without the need for costly replacements. If you’ve been living with discoloured grout lines, dirty tiles, or mouldy silicone, there’s a more affordable and effective solution. Read on to see how we restored this shower bath to its former glory! The Problem: Dirty Grout and Mouldy Sealant In this project, the shower bath area had been suffering from the common issues faced by many homeowners: Dirty and discoloured grout lines that detract from the overall appearance of the bathroom. Mouldy silicone sealant around the bath and in the corners of the shower area, which is not only unsightly but can also lead to bigger issues like water damage if left untreated. These are typical signs of wear and tear in bathrooms, especially in areas exposed to high levels of moisture. While it might be tempting to consider a full replacement, we know that expert cleaning and restoration can be just as effective—and much more cost-efficient.

Victorian Tiled Floor deep cleaning and sealing with a colour-enhancing impregnating sealer hindley
by Quality Tile Care 27 August 2024
Our client recently made an incredible discovery when they removed an old, dirty carpet from their home. Beneath the layers of grime lay a stunning original Victorian tiled floor from 1890, hidden for who knows how long. While the tiles were still intact, they were covered in carpet glue, adhesive, paint, and years of accumulated dirt. The floor’s true beauty was obscured, but we were excited to take on the challenge of bringing it back to life.
